LEGACY DAY

Connection. reflection. gratitude.

Legacy Day is an invite-only, annual event that offers a time to connect as a community, foster strength in our mission, and gather in reflection and gratitude for the service and sacrifice of our nation’s service members and veterans.

Honoring Service Through Story

Each year at Legacy Day, we are honored to welcome speakers whose experiences embody the mission of Warriors & Quiet Waters and the lifelong journey home from military service. From senior military leaders to Warriors who have walked our programs, these keynote addresses offer hard-earned perspective, resilience, and hope. Below, you can watch remarks from two unforgettable Legacy Day speakers: Command Sergeant Major Patrick McCauley, whose distinguished career leading U.S. Special Operations forces brought a powerful perspective on service and leadership, and Marine Corps veteran and Warriors & Quiet Waters alum Nathan Fletcher, who shared his deeply personal story of navigating post-traumatic stress, sobriety, brotherhood, and rediscovering purpose after war.

THE MEMORIAL GARDEN CEREMONY

Legacy Day hosts the Memorial Garden Ceremony in the Jean Hastings Memorial Garden at Quiet Waters Ranch. This garden was built in honor of WQW’s first donor and founding volunteer “Mom”, Jean Hastings. It exists to provide Warriors and their loved ones with a beautiful, serene environment where they can reflect and connect during their programs.

During the Memorial Garden Ceremony, guests are welcomed with the presentation of colors and the national anthem, followed by keynote remarks and the dedication of new pavers being placed in the garden. The ceremony closes with the placement a remembrance wreath, a moment of silence, and taps to honor our fallen heroes.

Warriors & Quiet WATERS CHAMPIONS Recognition

To recognize individuals who have demonstrated consistent and exceptional commitment to our mission and core values, the Warriors & Quiet Waters Board of Directors established the honorific “Warriors & Quiet Waters Champions.”  Each year, a limited number of individuals are selected as WQW Champions through a formal nomination and approval process led by the Board of Directors Executive Committee. The selected individuals are honored at Legacy Day.
