Jen Bower served 26 years on active duty in the U.S. Army and has continued her service as a Department of the Army Civilian since 2020. She is currently the Alumni Outreach Officer and Civilian Student Advisor for the Assistant Commandant for Outreach at the U.S. Army War College (USAWC), where she manages the USAWC’s online alumni community, Alumni Connect, and supports the development of international and interagency national security leaders. She is a retired Army logistician with several deployments, including duty in Afghanistan and several other countries.

WQW has provided Jen with much-needed perspective and helped her rediscover purpose in serving fellow veterans and creating safe, meaningful spaces for growth, connection, and healing. She believes deeply in the power of the outdoors to restore clarity and well-being.

An avid outdoorist, Jen enjoys hiking, backpacking, fly fishing, and camping — pursuits she sees as foundational to both physical and mental health.

Jen holds a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. She lives in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, with her wife, two sons, and two dogs.
